V. Target Students

International students whose Chinese proficiency has reached HSK Level 4 or above according to the "International Chinese Language Proficiency Standards".

VI. Educational Objectives and Specifications

(I) Educational Objectives

This program track aims to cultivate talents with a solid foundation in Chinese and Japanese languages and good humanistic literacy, extensive knowledge of Chinese and Japanese cultures and societies, exceptional international perspective and cross-cultural competence, strong expression skills in both Chinese and Japanese, and the ability to compare Chinese and foreign languages and cultures. It also fosters strong language research capabilities, translation skills, cross-cultural communication skills, interdisciplinary knowledge, a sense of inquiry, critical thinking, and innovative ability. Graduates can engage in work requiring Chinese-Japanese bilingual skills in fields such as education, secretarial work, translation, trade, and cultural exchange.

(II) Educational Specifications

Students will master systematic basic theories and fundamental knowledge of the Chinese language, possess relatively solid Chinese language competence and communicative ability; acquire basic knowledge of Chinese humanities, and be familiar with China's national conditions and social culture; possess relatively solid Japanese language competence and communicative ability, and understand Japan's national conditions and culture; graduates can engage in work requiring Chinese-Japanese bilingual skills in fields such as diplomacy, business, and secretarial work.

VII. Basic Framework of the Training Program

Students study at the main campus for the first and second years and must complete 76 credits; they study at the Tokyo Campus for the third and fourth years and must complete 98 credits. Career Guidance accounts for 2 credits, and the Undergraduate Thesis accounts for 8  credits.

X. Graduation Requirements

Students with formal student status who have completed the courses stipulated in the teaching plan, achieved passing or above grades, obtained the required course credits for graduation, complied with school discipline, and performed satisfactorily in moral, intellectual, physical, and aesthetic aspects will, upon review and approval by the respective college's teaching committee and the university's degree committee, be approved for graduation.

XI. Certificates and Degree Awarded

Upon meeting the graduation requirements, students will be awarded the Diploma in Chinese Language (Chinese Language Major). Upon successful defense of the undergraduate thesis, students will be awarded the Bachelor's Degree Certificate. Students who minor in another program and meet the respective graduation and degree requirements will receive the corresponding minor program diploma and degree certificate.
